The Order for Morning Prayer
Hymn (Stand)
Call to Prayer (All stand)
Leader: How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord;
Congregation: My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
The Confession (Kneel)
(One of the following confessions is
used.)
All: O blessed King of kings, we stand before Your throne with broken hearts and spirits, with blemished souls and shattered honor. We have sinned, O merciful One, we have sinned against You. By thoughts, by words, by deeds we have done; by thoughts, by words, by deeds undone, we have failed to hold Your commandments dearer than our own desires. We have rebelled and deserve Your swift and awesome judgment. Yet before Your throne do we confess our faults. We repent, O Lord, have mercy upon us and forgive us. Allow us once again to enter Your service and to amend those things we have done wrong; to do penance for our sins. For Your honor and for the glory of Your Name. Amen.
Or
All: We come to you, Lord, for you alone can heal and restore us. We are not able to heal ourselves; We are not able to forgive ourselves; We are not able to restore ourselves; We are not able to sanctify ourselves; We are not able to satisfy ourselves; We come to you Lord, for you alone can make us whole. Amen.
(The Leader, if he is a Priest, stands and gives one of the following blessing)

Minister of Christ's Holy Church and on His authority, I declare unto you the

For Missions
Leader: O great Lord of the
harvest, send forth, we beseech You, laborers into the harvest of the world,
that the grain which is even now ripe may not fall and perish through our
neglect. Pour forth Your sanctifying Spirit on our fellow-Christians (esp. N and
N), and Your converting grace on the unbeliever. Raise up, we pray You, a devout
ministry among believers, that, all Your people being knit together in one body
in love, Your holy Church may grow up into the measure of the stature of the
fullness of Christ. Through Him who died and rose for us all, the same Jesus
Christ our Lord (or the Gaelic "Tri Cri'ost ar d'Tiarna").
Congregation: Amen.
For the Parish
Leader: Almighty and everlasting
God, who governs all things in heaven and earth, mercifully hear the
supplications of Your servants, and grant unto this parish all things that are
needed for its spiritual welfare; enlighten and guide its clergy; strengthen and
increase the faithful; visit and relieve the sick; turn and soften the wicked;
rouse the careless; recover the fallen; restore the penitent; remove all
hindrances to the advancement of Your truth; bring all to be one heart and mind
within the fold of Your Holy Church; to the honor and glory of Your Name.

For the Bishop

ruler of all the faithful, mercifully look upon Your servant Name, whom You have

A Prayer for the Children

commend the souls of our children to You. Be their God and Father; and
mercifully supply whatever is wanting in us through frailty or negligence.
Strengthen them to overcome the corruptions of the world, to resist all
solicitations to evil, whether from within or without; and deliver them from the
secret snares of the enemy. Pour Your grace into their hearts, and confirm and
multiply in them the gifts of Your Holy Spirit, that they may daily grow in
grace and in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so faithfully serving You

our Lord (or the Gaelic "Tri Cri'ost ar d'Tiarna").

temptation besets us, and when strong passions seek to overwhelm us, that we may
remain constant in virtue and innocent in thought, word, and deed, doing such
things only as are well pleasing unto You; grant us growth in wisdom and
understanding , that we may serve You all the days of our life, through Jesus
Christ our Lord (or the Gaelic "Tri Cri'ost ar d'Tiarna").
Congregation: Amen.
The Guardian Angel
Leader: O angels of God who have
charge of us from the dear Father of mercifulness, the shepherding kind of the
fold of the saints, to make round about us this day; Drive from us every
temptation and danger. Surround us on the sea of unrighteousness. And in the
